Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Bryn Forbes scored 18 points off the bench to
lift the Cleveland State Vikings over the Ball State Cardinals, 69-63, at
Worthen Arena.
Forbes shot 6-of-11 from the field while making 4-of-8 three-point attempts to
lead the Vikings (5-2) to their third win in the last four outings. Despite
shooting 4-of-15 from the floor, Charlie Lee accounted for 16 points, followed
by Devon Long with 10 points and both Marlin Mason and Tim Kamczyc who
recorded seven points and eight rebounds.
Jesse Berry led all scorers as he exploded for 28 points on 8-of-16 shooting
form the floor for Ball State (2-3). Chris Bond added 12 points and seven
rebounds, while Majok Majok contributed eight points and eight boards before
fouling out.
Ball State led 34-30 heading into halftime after holding the visitors to just
37.9 percent from floor, including 1-of-11 from three-point range.
In the second half the Vikings came back strong as they held Ball State to
only nine made field goals, en route to the six-point win.
Second-chance points were key for CSU as it scored 19 points on such
opportunities, compared to just six for the Cardinals.
