Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Freshman Shaq Goodwin recorded his first career
double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Memphis Tigers coasted to
a 93-65 decision over the UT-Martin Skyhawks at the FedExForum,.
Goodwin shot 5-of-7 from the floor to lead five Tigers (4-2) in double
figures. Adonis Thomas scored 15 points, Chris Crawford drilled four three-
pointers on his way to 14 points, and Joe Jackson added 13 points and eight
assists. Geron Johnson tallied a career-high 13 points off the bench.
Mike Liabo made five triples en route to a game-high 21 points off the bench
for UT-Martin (2-5). Justin Childs added 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting while
Myles Taylor contributed 16 points and nine boards. Aside from Childs, the
other four Skyhawks starters went just 7-of-37 from the field.
Crawford scored all of his 14 points in the first half as Memphis led 47-30
heading into the intermission. The Skyhawks were plagued by 12 first half
turnovers.
The 17-point halftime advantage grew to 25 early in the second half and
the Tigers were able to cruise to an easy win. Memphis shot 58 percent from
the floor in the final 20 minutes.
Memphis improved to 6-0 all-time against its in-state foe.
