Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced
guard Ricky Rubio is expected to make his season debut Saturday night against
the Dallas Mavericks.
Rubio tore his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament in
his left knee in March last season and underwent successful surgery later that
month.
"I'm excited to get back on the floor with my teammates and play in front of
the best fans in the NBA at Target Center," said Rubio. "After a long
recovery, this is the first step in me getting back on the court and helping
my teammates. Thank you to the fans for their support over the last nine
months."
The highly touted guard from Spain was off to a stellar rookie campaign,
averaging 10.6 points and 8.2 assists over 41 games last season prior to the
injury.
