Evanston, IL (Sports Network) - Behind 14 points and eight assists from Dave
Sobolewski, the Northwestern Wildcats cruised to a 63-42 win over the Brown
Bears in a non-conference tilt at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
While Sobolewski was the only player to score in double figures for
Northwestern (9-4), Kale Abrahamson, Tre Demps, and Alex Marcotullio each
scored nine points while Jared Swopshire and Alex Olah had eight points
apiece.
For Brown (3-6), Sean McGonagill shot 7-of-13 from the field for 20 points,
but the rest of the team combined to make only 8-of-36 field goal attempts.
The Wildcats started the game on a 15-0 run and they went into intermission
with a 28-18 lead.
Northwestern kept its double-digit advantage throughout the second half,
leading by as many as 33 in the process.
The Wildcats did most of their damage from 3-point range, shooting 13-of-24
from beyond the arc, while Brown made just 28.6 percent of its long-range
attempts (4-of-14).
