ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Transportation has approved a contract to install six ramp meters to help improve traffic on Interstate 285.
New meter locations include north and southbound ramps from Lawrenceville Highway and Memorial Drive in DeKalb County, and the southbound entrance ramps to the Buford Highway Connector from Piedmont Road and Armour Drive in Fulton County.
The cost is $553,000, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
The meters limit the number of cars released at one time onto the interstate during peak traffic hours.
