FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - The Atlanta Falcons say star wide receiver Julio Jones will miss the remainder of the season with a foot injury.

Jones injured his right foot in Monday night's loss to the New York Jets.
Falcons head coach Mike Smith released a statement on Wednesday night saying:
"Unfortunately, Julio's appointment with the doctor today confirmed our initial findings," said Head Coach Mike Smith. "He is scheduled to have a season-ending procedure on Monday."

The severity of Jones' injury was confirmed on Wednesday when he was examined in Charlotte, N.C., by foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.
Anderson repaired Jones' broken right foot before his 2011 rookie season.
