ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - The University of Georgia is planning to hold a conference next week on school boards.
The one-day event, titled "Improving Schools through Board Governance," will be held Tuesday at the UGA Center for Continuing Education. The event is geared toward school board members, school superintendents, community leaders and educators.
School officials say the goal of the conference is to help school board members understand how they can make a difference and focus on improving education. Experts will be offering discussions on best practices, challenges and shared responsibilities of the board and superintendents.
There is no cost for the event, although registration is required. More information can be found online.
