DULUTH, GA - A high school student was crossing the street when an oncoming car struck him.
According to Duluth PD, the incident happened at around 8:00 a.m. this morning just a half mile away from Duluth High School.
The student was seen bleeding from the mouth and was transported to GMC Lawrenceville in stable condition. A police spokesperson said the crash did not happen at a crosswalk, so it was possible the student was jay-walking.
The 16-year-old ran out into the flow of traffic and the owner of the car was unable to stop in time. The vehicle sustained some windshield damage and had to be towed from the scene.
No charges have been reported at this time for the driver.
