Man dies after equipment collides with train

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A man has died after a train struck a repaving roller in Cobb County Wednesday.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. on New McEver Road and Hickory Grove Road. Witnesses said that 58-year-old Grady Walker was driving the steam wheel roller to get to a paving site when the roller got stuck on the tracks.

Walker wasn't able to get out of the machine before being struck by a train. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with "traumatic" injuries, according to Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

He died of his injuries on Thursday, police said.
