Tropical Storm Karl continues to move across the Atlantic. It has been maintaining low end tropical storm strength with winds now up to 45mph. The system is forecast to move toward the west. The latest track from the National Hurricane Center shows the storm slowly increasing in strength. Based on the latest forecast, the storm would become a hurricane Friday just to the east of the Bahamas. The NHC forecast shows it with 90mph winds Friday as it is well off the east of the US mainland. NHC thinks this storm could become a category 2 storm with 100mph winds as it curves to the NE away from the United States and close to Bermuda. That track can still change.
We also have a new tropical depression off the coast of Africa. This could become "Lisa." It is expected to stay over the open waters of the Atlantic.
