DeKalb Police searching for assault victim's ID

TUCKER, Ga. -- The DeKalb County Police Department is hoping the public can help them identify a Jane Doe who was found severely beaten by the side of an Atlanta roadway this past weekend.

According to officials, the unidentified woman was discovered off Wesley Chapel Road near Interstate 20 on Oct. 2. She was taken to the hospital to get treatment for her injuries, but so far, officials have not been able to determine who she is.

The victim is described as a black woman in her middle- to late-thirties. She's about 5'5" and 120 to 130 pounds and has black hair.

Police say she was not carrying any ID with her when she was found and has no distinct identifying markings.

Investigators released several photos of the items the woman was wearing when she was found and are asking anyone who might recognize them to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call the DeKalb County Police Department Homicide and Assault Unit and 770-724-7850.
