Woman arrested after shooting into car

POWDER SPRINGS, GA. - A woman is in the Cobb County jail Monday afternoon after firing shots into another vehicle earlier in the day.

LaTasha Whitfield, 30, of Atlanta, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Felony and Battery.

A Powder Springs police investigation revealed Whitfield was driving a white Dodge Charger when she began firing at a black Dodge Challenger driven by Octavious Dixon, 33, of Powder Springs. The incident took place in the area of Groveland Park Drive near New Macland Road.

The two vehicles were stopped and side-by-side each other at the time of the shooting. Dixon was taken to Kennestone Hospital. His condition is not know.

The relationship between Whitfield and Dixon is also unknown at this time, but based on the current information, police believe this is an isolated and possibly domestic related incident.
