WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- A mom was stabbed to death by her son in Cherokee County, Sunday.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the incident happened in the 500 block of Downsby Lane outside of Woodstock, Ga.
Law enforcement learned of the killing when 21-year-old Michael Jacobs called 911 to report that he had killed his mother, 54-year-old Melony Jacobs.
When police arrived, they found the mother with multiple stab wounds. The son was still in the home as well.
A motive has not yet been established and neighbors said they didn't hear anything when the incident apparently occurred.
Michael Jacobs was taken to the hospital to treat wounds to his hands before he was taken to the Cherokee Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. He faces Felony Murder and Murder with Malice charges and is scheduled to have a first appearance hearing Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
This is the third stabbing in two days but is the first that was fatal.
In another, a 43-year-old victim had been stabbed in the back, head and abdomen. Investigators uncovered that the incident unfolded at Waleska Road near Mill Street in Canton at about 8 p.m.
They believe 28-year-old Brian Miller of Canton was responsible. Miller is currently wanted on aggravated assault charges in connection to the Saturday incident. He was last seen in a dark SUV with a cracked windshield.
Before that, sheriff's office officials said 61-year-old Richard James Sheriff stabbed his roommate, 45-year-old Claudia Santizo, after an argument and then fled the scene.
Santizon was wounded in her neck and arm. She was taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He was last seen driving an older model brownish-gold Toyota.
Anyone with information on either of these suspects is asked to call 911.
