Suspect wounded after police chase ends in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was investigating a police-involved shooting at a Walmart store on Ga. 92 in Woodstock Friday evening.

Woodstock Police public information officer Brittany Duncan says police were involved in a chase that ended in the store's parking lot. A suspect was shot and wounded by an officer. The officer was not hurt. The GBI and Woodstock Police were at the parking lot investigating the shooting.

Duncan says the suspect was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. That person's condition is not known at the present time.

There was no immediate word as to the cause of the chase.
