Minor changes made to Diverging Diamond Interchange

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Tuesday marked day 3 of the new Diverging Diamond Interchange on Ashford Dunwoody Road in DeKalb County. Despite several instances of drivers going the wrong way, transportation officials are, for the most part, pleased with the way people are adjusting to the new design.

The state's first DDI aims at reducing congestion and curbing accidents.

On Monday, some minor signal timing adjustments were made to improve traffic flow, and engineers discussed potential changes tothe merge coming off I-285 Westbound.

The Georgia DOT opened the new DDI Sunday evening, nearly 12 hours ahead of the planned opening.

DOT crewsstill have some work to do, and it is stillconsidered aconstruction zone.
