ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia is kicking off its "Apply to College
Week" where high school students statewide will get help with
applications and finding financial aid.
Nearly 45 high schools across the state will participate in the
event starting Monday. Volunteers from Georgia's colleges and
universities are to help students do their paperwork through
GAcollege411.org. The Web site was set up a few years ago to help streamline the process of applying to college in Georgia.
The volunteers will particularly focus on students whose parents
did not go to college.
It's the second year the weeklong event has been held. Last
year, volunteers helped nearly 1,000 high school students apply to college during the week.
