Ga. deputies pat down 900+ students at school; parents to file suit

A group of Worth County parents say they will file a lawsuit against the Sheriff's Office after an incident at their high school (WALB)

WORTH CO., GA -- Parents in Worth County are in the midst of filing a lawsuit against the Sheriff's office.

Worth County High School students were searched for drugs on April 14th. The search involved a physical pat down of all 900 plus students.

Parents argue that the search violated the student's fourth amendment rights. They also insist there was no probable cause for that large scale of a pat down, WALB reports.

On top of that, GBI is also investigating one of the deputies for alleged inappropriate contact between them and one of the students.
