2008 Kids Who Care Winners

Leighton Berry is a senior at Westlake High School. He is a dedicated community leader, serving as Vice President of Human Resources for Metro Atlanta Junior Achievement. The Vice President of the Westlake Lion Ambassadors, he attended a hunger and poverty summit at The Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Jenna Clare Harris is a junior at Riverwood High School, who has created an after school dance program at the Brookhaven Boys and Girls Club. She took her passion and dance experience and shared it with kids who couldn't wait to learn. Jenna teaches this class every week and has secured the auditorium at Riverwood High so the kids can have a dance recital.

Andrew Max is a senior from Woodward Academy. Every week he donates his time at the Genesis Shelter, repairing computers for both the employees and the residents. He also helped the shelter receive a $100,000 grant from the Humana Foundation to award the shelter new computers and help update older ones.

Sarah McCauley is a freshman at North Atlanta High School and a tremendous community leader. Sarah started a non-profit organization, Strands of Hope and has raised over $17,000 for Brain Tumor Research. When her uncle was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Sarah began knitting scarves to raise money and through her website, knitters from across the country have donated scarves to the cause.
