Police: Shoplifting suspect rolls over clerk's foot with car trying to escape

MORROW, Ga. -- Police are searching for an assault suspect who they said stole from a Morrow gas station before running over the store clerk's foot with his car during his escape.

Around 2 a.m. on May 3, Morrow Police said a suspect went inside a Shell gas station in the 1500 block of Mt. Zion Road and began taking items from the shelves. 

A store clerk who inside the store realized what was happening and tried to stop the suspect. That's when police said a struggle broke out between the two and continued to the suspect's car.

Police said the suspect then got inside the car, knocked the clerk down with the door and started driving away. As the suspect drove off, police said he drove over the clerk's foot.

Investigators with the Morrow Police Department are now searching for the suspect and his possibly Maroon-colored Nissan sedan.
