ATLANTA -- Family members said 16-year-old Andres Arias was shot and killed by his stepfather during a family dispute on Thanksgiving.
"My mom tried to fight him. My brother got in between them," said Andres' sister Fabiola Arias. "My brother always tried to be the brave one. Then my stepdad went and took the gun out, and he shot him four times."They said Cristino Ramos took off in a black GMC Denali after the 10:30 p.m. shooting in the parking lot of the Estuary Apartments near Henderson Mill Road.
Arias said Ramos was drunk when he tried to take his 2-year-old son from the boy's mother during a family party nearby.
Arias said her brother was in the 11th grade at Lakeside High School. She said he attended Dunwoody High and Tucker High before that. She said he was shy but smart and a very good student.
