19-year-old candidate loses Stonecrest council bid by 22 votes

STONECREST, Ga -- A 19-year-old woman lost her bid for the Stonecrest city council by 22 votes on Tuesday night.

Mary Pat Hector, seeking election to the new city's Post 4 council district, lost to George Turner in a runoff. Hector finished with 845 votes to Turner's 867.

Stonecrest voters went to the polls on Tuesday for its first-ever runoff election.

Other runoffs were held for council posts 2 and 5.
