DRUMMONDS, Tenn. (WMC) -- A Tennessee man says a dispute with one of his neighbors led to the man to take heavy machinery and destroy his home.
John Higdon says his neighbor Edgar McLellan used a backhoe to damage his home after Higdon fired shots into the woods near McLellan's home.
Police said the two had been feuding the past few days and tensions just boiled over.
Authorities charged McLellan with aggravated criminal trespassing and felony vandalism, while the charged Higdon with reckless endangerment.
However, Higdon's brother disputes that the two men were in a feud and said he doesn't know why McLellan would do something like that to the home that their father built.
"Don't know why," he told 11Alive's sister station WMC-TV in Memphis. "Never had a beef with him. No explanation."
