Woman arrested in fatal Lithia Springs hit-and-run

Woman wanted in hit and run turns self in

LITHIA SPRINGS, Ga. -- A woman wanted for a fatal hit-and-run accident in Lithia Springs has turned herself in.

The accident happened November 12 at the intersection of Thornton Road and Factory Shoals Road.

According to Georgia State Patrol, 40-year-old Bettie Mae surrendered to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

Officials say she was the driver of an 2010 Infinite FX35 that struck and killed 46-year-old Marcus Rone in a crosswalk.

Rone leaves behind two children, as well as two brothers, two sisters and his mother.
