Work to replace water valve to shut down lanes at Peachtree, Piedmont

ATLANTA -- Drivers who have to navigate around in the city tonight, buckle up.

Crews with Atlanta Watershed Management will be working to repair a water valve at a busy Atlanta intersection beginning at 10 p.m.

Repairs will temporarily close two southbound lanes on Piedmont Road and two eastbound lanes on Peachtree Road, while crews complete the work. Atlanta Watershed said traffic control measures will be in place to guide drivers around the work zone, however they are urged to avoid the area if possible.

GDOT also warned drivers of the work on their Twitter page.

Construction will take place between 10 p.m. and last through the early morning hours of Wednesday.
