TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. -- Boosters of Tybee Island's historic theater are getting ready to throw a big party -- the third annual Tybee Wine Festival.

The festival opens next Friday on the beach getaway east of Savannah with wine vendors at Marlin Monroe's restaurant letting patrons sample wines that pair well with oysters.

The weekend will also feature hundreds of international wines and craft beers available for sampling on the grounds of the Tybee lighthouse, as well as a Sunday champagne brunch at the island's new wedding chapel.

Tickets to events are $35 to $50. The money will be used to benefit restoration of the historic Tybee Post Theater.
