NORCROSS, Ga. -- A bank employee was wounded Thursday during a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo branch on Peachtree Parkway.

Just after 11 a.m., a lone, black male went into the bank brandishing a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from bank employees, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said Thursday afternoon.

Bank tellers complied with the robber's demands, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. "The robber then, for reasons unknown, began firing toward the teller counter, striking a bank employee in the arm," a news release from the FBI said.

The bank employee was being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital, the FBI said.

The robber was seen leaving the bank in a vehicle. The FBI said it was still trying to determine the description of the vehicle.

The robber was being described as a black male, light complexion, in his early 20s to early 30s. He had a slender build. He was wearing a black "dred type" wig, possibly with a hat, and brandishing a small-caliber semi-automatic handgun.

The FBI said the same suspect robbed a Wells Fargo Bank on Centerville Highway in Snellville on June 13, 2011. In that robbery he aggressively jumped over the counter and pointed a handgun at a teller and demanded money.

"This individual is important to us because of the gun, because he fired the gun, and because he injured an employee," said FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett. "That puts him at the top of the priority list with us."

Wells Fargo was offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the capture/conviction of the suspected robber, according to Emmett.

Forty five minutes after the Norcross robbery, a Bank of America in Stockbridge was robbed by a man wearing a hoodie and a possible wig. "The suspect presented a note to the teller indicating he had a weapon and would use it if they did not give him money," said Henry County Police Sgt. Mike Ireland.

People with information about any of the robberies or the whereabouts of the suspected robber are asked to call the Atlanta Office of the FBI at (404) 679-9000 or CrimeStoppers at (404) 577-TIPS.
