UNION CITY, Ga. -- Kenya Thomas finished her first AJC Peachtree Road Race in 2009. But, there was more than just a t-shirt waiting for her at the finish line.

"He was there waiting," she said of her then-boyfriend Solomon. "He's on the grass at the finish line. He pops up with the ring and said, 'Will you marry me?' I'm like 'Now? I'm all sweaty!'"
Kenya said yes. The Union City couple married in Jamaica this past May. This year they're running the Peachtree together as husband and wife.
It's the second race for Kenya; the first for Solomon.
"This one's going to be special. It's the first time as husband and wife," Kenya said. "Every year it will remind me of the day he proposed."
