MARIETTA, GA (WXIA) - Marietta city councilman Anthony Coleman (Ward 5) turned himself in to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation at the Cobb County Jail after the GBI obtained two arrest warrants for him.
The misdemeanor arrest warrants charge Coleman with one count of simple battery and one count of simple assault.
A GBI investigation started on September 30 at the request of the Marietta Police Department found that Coleman assaulted a fellow city councilmember following a city council meeting on September 22.
Coleman turned himself in at 1:45 Friday afternoon.
