DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- A 51-year-old Douglasville woman has been charged with hitting and killing a teenager who had just gotten off a school bus.

Police said 17-year-old Brandy Hart was hit at around 7 p.m. Tuesday on Cedar Mountain Road near Dorris Road in unincorporated Douglas County.

The school bus, which was not involved in the crash, was stopped and had its red lights activated when Hart was hit, according to police.

The Douglasville teen was later pronounced dead at WellStar Douglas Hospital.

Shirley Barker McManners has been charged with vehicular homicide and reckless conduct in Hart's death.
