ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - A man who fought with a Macy's security guard who said he caught the man shoplifting now is charged with using a minister's name when he was arrested.
The man, 42-year-old Stacy Mitchell, told police he's Kenneth Dwayne Jones, who is senior pastor of Gholston Missionary Baptist Church in Comer.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports police say a fingerprint scan shows the suspect is Mitchell.
Police say Mitchell had used the minister's name before. They say that when he was arrested two months earlier, he gave an officer someone else's name.
Mitchell was arrested at Macy's on Dec. 21. Police say a loss prevention officer saw him stuff clothes into a bag, and Mitchell tried to choke the officer and punched him before shoppers intervened.
