LULA, Ga. -- The Hall County Government released its second rabies alert of 2012 Tuesday morning.
Officials confirmed that a rabid skunk made contact with a dog in the Latty Road area near Lula earlier this month.
Positive rabies alert signs will be posted in the area where the skunk was located, according to Hall County spokeswoman Nikki Young.
A rabid bobcat was found in Gillsville on Jan. 20.
Pet owners are encouraged to have their animals vaccinated. Rabies vaccines cost only $10 and can be given at the Hall County Animal Shelter in Gainesville.
Anyone who sees animals acting abnormally is asked to call Hall County Animal Services at 770-531-6830.
