ATLANTA (WXIA) -- The moment DJ Greg Street heard news that Whitney Houston had died he and his staff started making phone calls, searching the internet and digging up every Whitney Houston CD in the archives.
"We just started playing her songs back to back, letting our listeners know what had happened and passing along details as we confirmed them," said Street.
Listeners also began calling in with their own recollections of the singer and sending condolences to Houston's surviving daughter and family members who live in the Atlanta area.
"I've lost two people close to me and I would just tell her family that they will get through this. I'm so sorry for their loss," said one caller.
Within hours of hearing about Houston's death V-103 Program Manager Reggie Rouse had a special tribute show lined up for Sunday from noon to 3pm. Radio Personality Frank Ski and others are expected to take part.
