ATLANTA, Ga. (WXIA) - Georgia Department of Transportation officials said some roadwork scheduled for Metro Atlanta's roadways for this weekend may be cut short due to heavy rains expected late Friday and early Saturday.
"If the weather will let us, we will get some work done so motorists need to know that we plan to work at these locations," said Georgia DOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins.
Here's a full list of roadwork expected this weekend (weather permitting), from GDOT:
Cobb, 3/2/12 to 3/3/12, 9pm till 5am
SR 3 NB, from MP 9.35 (Industrial Park Drive) to MP 9.41 (Canton Highway), Single outside lane closed for underground utility work.
Clayton, 3/2/12 to 3/5/12, 9pm till 5am, daily
I-75 SB & NB, from MP 235 (Old Dixie Highway) to MP 231 (Mt Zion Road), single inside lane closure for signage construction
Clayton, 3/2/12 to 3/3/12, 11pm till 5am
I-75 NB, from MP 231 (Mt Zion Road) to MP 235 (Old Dixie Highway), two inside lanes closed for signage construction.
Fulton, 3/2/12 to 3/3/12, 9pm till 5am,
I-285 @ I-85, MP 61, single outside lane closure for working on overhead signage
Fulton, 3/2/12 to 3/3/12, 7pm till 5:30am
SR 9 NB/SB, from MP 3.35 TO MP 3.45 (Peachtree Memorial Drive), all lanes affected for performing signal maintenance.
