SUWANEE, Ga. -- A man shot himself after a standoff with police in Suwanee Monday afternoon according to authorities.
Police said the man shot two women at an apartment in Auburn before going to a home on Scales Street in Suwanee. The man was originally reported by police as having killed himself. They later indicated that they had given news agencies incorrect information, and that while the suspect had shot himself, he was still alive.
He is presently reported to be in critical condition at Gwinnett Medical Center.
The two women were also airlifted to Gwinnett Medical Center, where Auburn Police say one was deceased and the other is reported to be in critical condition.
According to police, an initial call went out for a report of a shooting at an apartment on Parks Mill Road in Auburn. When they arrived, they found two women that had been shot. The suspect had already left the apartment. Shortly after that, police received a report of someone with a gun in front of a home on Scales Street in Suwanee.
The standoff ended when the suspect shot himself. No other injuries were reported. The names of the women and the suspect have been withheld at this time.
