SPRING, Texas -- Authorities near Houston, Texas say they're holding a person of interest in the abduction of a three-day-old boy and the fatal shooting of his mother.
Police found the boy safe hours after the infants's mother was shot several times outside a pediatric center, where she had taken her son for a checkup.
Authorities said the baby's mother, 28-year-old Kala Marie Golden, was leaving a checkup with her son Tuesday afternoon when she had a verbal altercation with a woman in a parked Lexus.
Sheriff's Lt. Dan Norris says witnesses reported that the woman repeatedly shot Golden, snatched the baby and sped off, hitting Golden as she screamed and tried to reach into the Lexus.
