Jesse Morrison, 48, wanted by US Marshals
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Jesse Morrison is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for May 9, 2012.
Morrison, 48, is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Fayette County Sheriff Office for selling stolen cars, forgery, and fleeing and eluding police.
Marshals said Morrison stole four cars off of Atlanta streets and towed them to an auto salvage yard in Fayetteville, where he sold them for cash.
On Aug. 29, 2011, after developing information from an investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, deputies waited for Morrison to show up at the salvage yard. Morrison drove up in a U-Haul truck, but when he saw the deputies, he sped off.
Deputies chased him for nearly five miles. At one point, Morrison jumped the median on Highway 314 and sped northbound in the southbound lanes.
The chase ended when Morrison crashed the U-Haul into a tree in a cul-de-sac on Holly Amber Lane. He bailed out of the truck and ran on foot.
"Mr. Morrison has family in the Riverdale area and is known to live in the Riverdale area as well as Fairburn and up in the Atlanta area," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Heinze.
Heinze said Morrison has a 36-page criminal history, including charges for assault, burglary and drugs.
Morrison is now featured on Rowson's Crime Scene along with former Fugitives of the Week. If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477).
