ATLANTA -- In golf, etiquette matters more than it does in most other sports. Allegations of eye-opening breaches in etiquette at an upscale Atlanta golf club have drawn the attention of the golf world.

The club is the Piedmont Driving Club, an expensive members-only country club with an upscale golf course in southwest Atlanta.
A letter purportedly sent by a member to the Piedmont Driving Club's management, and leaked onto numerous web sites, outlines the breaches of decorum at a recent tournament.
Quoting from the member's letter:
- "One member decided to play the fourteenth hole completely naked. I have not researched it, but I suspect this is a crime in Georgia."
- "One member decided to show off to other members and a caddie his ability to pick up a golf ball with his naked butt cheeks."
- "On Friday night, one of the drunken golfers passed out in the men's grill, and another member opened his pants, pulled out his penis, and slapped the passed out member's head with his penis."
The Piedmont Driving Club didn't respond to repeated requests for comment, though Creative Loafing quotes a club spokesman: "We have taken disciplinary action based on what we currently know to be
true. We take this matter very seriously and are looking into it
further. When all of the facts are gathered and verified, we will
consider further action."
