Nino Isakovic, 23, wanted for violating probation
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga -- Nino Isakovic is 11 Alive's Fugitive of the Week for July 13, 2012. Isakovic, 23, of Suwanee, is wanted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Fugitive Squad for a Probation Violation. He is on probation after serving time for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Simple Assault and Criminal Damage to Property.
The charges stem from three separate incidents in July 2010. Isakovic's troubles with the law started when he fled from a Gwinnett County Police Officer after being stopped for driving a stolen vehicle. Isakovic rammed the officer's patrol car and fled on foot into the woods to escape.
On July 15, 2010, Isakovic was stopped again by another Gwinnett County Police Officer on Legacy Park Drive in Lawrenceville. "He tried to run the officer over in his vehicle causing the officer to dive out of the way to miss being hit by the vehicle," Lt. Sean Smith said.
Then on July 25, 2010, Isakovic used a golf club to shatter the windows of a car he was trying to steal right in front of a Suwanee home where he lived with his mother.
Lt. Smith said Isakovic served eight months in prison and was released on probation. "He had a great record and was reporting to his probation officer, but I think after a couple months he just stopped," Smith said.
"We believe that he may be dealing methamphetamines," Smith said. "We believe he may also be using methamphetamines."
Lt. Smith said they have had no sightings of Isakovic but still believe he is in the metropolitan Atlanta area. "I think he has the propensity to be violent so it's important that we get him off the street," he said.
