Hundreds pack the Sandy Springs Department of Driver Services.
ATLANTA -- Georgia's Department of Driver Services says they are experiencing a statewide outage of issuing licenses and identification cards.
The DDS website has a note across the top that mentions the outage, but does not indicate when they expect services to be restored.
They said that appointments for road tests, written exams and motor vehicle registrations are not affected by the outages.
The Department of Driver Services have received a lot of negative attention recently after the agency changed the procedures for motorists obtaining new or renewing their licenses. The agency says the new procedures were implemented as a result of new federal guidelines.
Due to the changes, customers were forced to wait in lines for five hours or more -- resulting in tons of complaints from customers.
