Banks County High School was locked down following Friday morning's shooting, which authorities have said was self-inflicted.
HOMER, Ga. -- A Banks County High School student shot himself in a bathroom at school Friday morning.
The Banks County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the student shot himself at around 8 a.m. He was airlifted to a local hospital; there was no immediate word on his condition.
Banks County High was placed on lockdown after the shooting. Parents received a mass phone call, telling them that the shooting was an attempted suicide, according to investigators.
There were no reports of other students being injured.
