ATHENS, Ga. -- The University of Georgia's Museum of Art will begin the exhibition "The Look of Love: Eye Miniatures from the Skier Collection" beginning October 6.
The exhibit is of a rose gold brooch with small-scale portraits of individual eyes set into various forms of jewelry from late 18th and early 19th century England. Stories of lost love and secret romance are behind the brooch's artwork.
The Birmingham Museum of Art created an iPad app to be used along with observing the brooch. The app magnifies the tiny art on each part of the brooch, so viewers can see them from multiple angles in videos.
