SMYRNA, Ga. -- Imagine waiting more than three years for the priceless memories of your wedding album and never getting it.
For Kristen and Chris Seals of Smyrna, that's just what happened. They got excuse after excuse but still no album.
Two weeks ago, the 11Alive Help Desk met with the Seals and got a firm commitment from the wedding photographer that he would finally deliver everything on Wednesday of this week.
The Seals waited anxiously at home for their wedding album and digital photographs, but they never appeared.
After years of extraordinary patience, they figured they'd finally get what they paid $6,000 to have.
"We both raced home from work. We've been counting down the days and it's been a long wait. We were pretty excited. It was finally going to be over," Kristen Seals said.
But despite firm promises made to the 11Alive Help Desk, the wedding photographer, John Campbell, never showed up.
"All we wanted was our pictures. That's all we wanted. That's really disappointing," Kristen Seals said. "I'm shocked. I thought he would appear. I thought this would do the trick but I guess not," We are devastated. We are devastated."
Instead of showing up, Campbell called the Seals less than an hour before he was due to arrive and left a voice mail saying his shipment containing the album did not arrive.
"We have been told time and time again for the past three-plus years that it is in the mail, that it's coming and we'll get it to you," Kristen Seals said.
The Seals called Campbell back and wanted something that would keep their wedding memories alive.
"At the very least, give us a good faith showing and bring us our digital negatives," Kristen Seals asked.
Thursday afternoon, a CD with more than 700 wedding images showed up in the Seals' mailbox, but there was still no wedding album.
The 11Alive Help Desk left multiple voicemails for Campbell, but the calls have not been returned.
