Community leaders celebrate a $500,000 grant to go toward Gateway Domestic Violence Shelter.
HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has given a $500,000 grant to the Hall County Government for domestic violence assistance.
According to the Hall County Government, they funds will be used to help build transitional housing for domestic violence victims, with the help of Gateway. They received the award at a celebration on Tuesday morning, along with community leaders and the 8th Annual Domestic Violence Breakfast and Briefing at the Gainesville Public Safety Building.
Gateway Domestic Violence Center hopes to complete transitional housing projects, including a shelter. They have partnerships with the Gainesville Kiwanis Club, Junior League of Gainesville Hall County Habitat for Humanity Hall County, as well as local churches and local organizations.
