HENRY COUNTY -- The Henry County Fire Department continues fire safety awareness with fire safety education events in October.
In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week 2012, firemen in Henry County taught residents the importance of having more than one way out of a home in case of fire. The theme continuing for October supports the "Everyone Goes Home" campaign, which is help to prevent firefighter fatalities, as a result of entering burning buildings where citizens did not have, not practice escape plans.
Henry County firefighters hope that through fire safety education, deaths of firemen and citizens can be prevented while fire safety techniques can be spread to an increasing number of citizens.
"Although as individuals, we don't always believe it, we can make a difference and Henry County Fire Department will continue to try through Fire and Life Safety Education and Prevention," Captain Sabrina Puckett said.
