TARPON SPRINGS, FL (WTSP) -- A Tampa Bay area man is facing several charges after authorities say he ran naked around a golf course and sideswiped a deputy's car during a police chase.

Several hours later, police in Tarpon Springs tried stopping a white van driving at a high rate of speed on US 19. The pursuit was called off after the vehicle entered Pasco County.
Deputies say the van, driven by a still-naked Luna, stopped at a 7-Eleven located at U.S. 19 and Flora in Holiday shortly before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Luna then allegedly assaulted a clerk inside the store.
Afterwards the suspect got into his van and drove the wrong way on the southbound lanes of U.S. 19. Authorities began pursuing the van, as other deputies blocked roads to prevent any accidents to commuters.
One patrol car was sideswiped during the pursuit. Deputies were eventually able to stop the van near U.S. 19 and Moog Road.
Deputies say Luna, still naked, fled the vehicle, but was apprehended a short time later. No deputies, including the deputy in the sideswiped patrol car, were injured during the pursuit.
Luna is charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, aggravating fleeing to elude driving while license revoked, resisting without violence, and violation of probation.
Investigators are unsure at this point why Luna was not wearing any clothes.
