DULUTH, Ga. -- Young patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston will get a surprise visit Wednesday from Gwinnett Gladiators armed with hundreds of teddy bears.
Several players plan to deliver stuffed animals that were donated during the team's "Teddy Bear Toss" on January 26.
Gladiator fans threw about 2,000 stuffed bears onto the rink at the Gwinnett Arena in the second period after defenseman Corey Fienhage scored the first Gladiators goal in the game against Idaho.
The Glads went on to win the game, 3-2.
The bears will be donated to CHOA and other local charities in metro Atlanta and North Georgia.
