AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Two Augusta teens have pleaded guilty to lying to police about a fatal shooting.
19-year-old Brandon Devon Berry and 19-year-old Morreio Demetrius Carswell were charged with making false statements after a March 19, 2011 shooting that left 19-year-old James Gillette Jr. dead.
The teens have each been sentenced to a year of probation and will receive credit for time they've already served in jail.
Berry has served seven months and Carswell has served over two months.
