MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta firefighter engineer died after collapsing during a call on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Marietta Police Department, Lonnie Nutt collapsed while on a call for a car accident on Whitlock Avenue.
Reports say Nutt was aiding an injured driver at the time of the incident.
Nutt died of an unrelated medial issue after he was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
Nutt was was an employee of the City of Marietta since 1994, where he served as a firefighter, inspector, investigator and firefighter engineer.
