CARROLLTON, Ga. -- A University of West Florida administrator has been chosen to serve as president at the University of West Georgia.
University System of Georgia officials Friday announced Kyle Marrero, vice president for university advancement, will assume his new role in July.
Marrero has served as vice president of advancement for the University of West Georgia in Pensacola since 2009, and provided executive leadership to bolster the school's alumni relations, development, marketing, and communications efforts.
Officials say his office helped the university record a 20 percent increase in enrollment and conducted the largest capital campaign in the school's history by raising $39.2 million - surpassing the school's goal of $35 million.
Marrero has a background in music and currently serves as artistic director for the Pensacola Opera.
