RABUN COUNTY, Ga. -- Authorities have charged seven people for with the assault of a 21-year-old disabled wheelchair-bound woman in Clayton, Ga.
The woman, Ashley Hamilton, suffered extensive injuries to her head and face. Police found her at Raco's Sports Bar in Clayton on Apr. 3.
Rabun County Sheriff Frank Andrews said investigators think Hamilton was left in the care of family friends while her mother went out of town.
According to authorities, warrants for disabled person abuse, battery and reckless conduct were obtained for Ashley's mother, step-grandmother, aunt, healthcare nurse, her mother's fiancee, and two other unrelated caretakers.
Arrests, in this case, have been made.
